The International Liver Cancer Association thanks all of the eminent colleagues, members, scientific contributors and speakers who joined our community and made ILCA 2011 in Hong Kong an event of the highest scientific quality.

For the very first time in Asia, the Fifth ILCA Annual Conference was extremely well attended, with 820 participants from 41 countries. We are grateful to all present for contributing to an outstanding sharing, learning, and networking experience in Hong Kong

Our Society is also thankful for the valuable support and involvement of all its partners and sponsors, who, through their support and trust, are contributing to the growth of ILCA and to the development of initiatives for the advancement of liver cancer science and care worldwide.

This year’s meeting was a key milestone as ILCA celebrated its 5th year anniversary and brought the Conference for the first time to Asia. The Society also elected its third President, Prof. Josep M. Llovet (Spain/USA), who succeeded Prof. Gregory Gores (USA). New Governing Board members also joined the ILCA leadership, bringing new experiences and backgrounds to the organisation.

After 5 years of existence, ILCA has strongly established itself as the premier forum for the exchange of the latest basic and clinical science by taking a transversal and multidisciplinary approach to the field of liver cancer.

We already hope to meet you next year at the Sixth ILCA Annual Conference in Berlin, Germany, for another lively and invigorating scientific exchange and to advance liver cancer research and care with you.
